Situated over 50m above sea-level in the centre of the horseshoe created by the surrounding mountains, the EcoHouse has a fantastic view over the Risan part of Boka Kotorska. There are also clear views of the mountains on all sides from the wide terraces. With its south-facing aspect, and the corresponding almost full-width windows, the house is filled with light. The overhanging roof and the width of the top floor terrace ensure that the heat from direct sun in summer does not enter the house, but that sunlight has full access during the cooler months of the year. This is a fundamental feature of Passive Houses – taking advantage of the orientation to assist natural temperature control.
